Tenzin Dakpa

I am a Tibetan boy .I was born in 1984  as a refugee. I did my boarding school  in the SOS Tibetan Childern’s Village in Dharamsala. When I was class two, I used to draw landscapes and cartoons.

In August 1998, I participated in Inter T.C.V school painting competition and I won 1st position with a certificate. During the school time, my teachers noticed my talent and they appreciated my art works a lot.

After 1998, I used to participated in many painting competition and I got certificate on my works.

In 2000, I met  Tibetan artist like  Lobsang lak and some other artists who inspiring for me at that time. I first learned sculpture from him and discussed about Tibetan Thangka Paintings. Since then my enrollment in the school activity in the field of art and decoration get more. By the time I became more interested and have a great quest to become an artist.

In August 2003, I join art’s stream in T.C.V.  Gopalpur for two years. It was a great time, I was doing lots of paintings and drawings. And also I participated editorial cartoon theme in school magazine for one year.

In April 2005, I graduated +2 from art’s stream and on the same year I got admitted in Delhi College Of Art.

In April 2009, I  graduated degree course in Delhi College Of Art. After finish my graduated,In June and august 1st and 2nd  2009, i did my “50 years in exile” and “artist in exile “painting exhibition in India at Dharamsala in upper  Tibetan Children’s  Village and Namgyal monastery hall .. In October 2009, i did my third exhibition in Shimla… So, during the 23rd Jan 2010, i did exhibited in India Habitat Center in Delhi, after, Starting form  2nd April till 6th July 2010,  i did “Artist in Exile” and “Art and Poetry”  and “Exhibit 75″ painting exhibition in Peak art gallery in Dharamsala with some of few Tibetan artist living in Dharmsala and some of Tibetan poetry. it was so wonderful experience to me in Dharamsala” A Little Lhasa”.
